Great Gem in Hillcrest|Recommended: YesLiving here is pretty great overall- it's quiet, secure, well-lit at night, and the grounds are beautiful, not to mention we have a grill and patio area which I feel gives the complex that extra X factor. Hillcrest Place is reasonably priced for the area and I am mostly content with the amenities offered. Parking can be tight and I wish they offered wall AC units instead of resigning us to settle for portable ACs. As far as management goes, I was sad to see Corina leave- she had been the on-site manager for years and always made me feel like a valued tenant since I moved here back in 2014. She went way, way above the call of duty when I was locked out, needed a pet sitter, a random favor etc.- you name it, she did everything in her power to see my needs were met. Jose is the new on-site manager and he's doing a great job- he even had grips installed on the lower stairwell leading to the carport so no one slips when it rains. It's small details like that that make it better than other multi-unit complexes in the area. The only things I would change is one, getting the intercom working again. It needs to be updated with our names and connected to our phone numbers so we can buzz people in...or at least go back to using a code so we can receive deliveries. The second thing I would change is getting something better than a padlock and bar to secure the dumpsters outside. I would use a high wall dumpster enclose so we can toss our trash in without having to touch anything or worry about dumpster divers the Cable lofts across the street have something similar . I'm usually up at night and can hear divers tearing through the trash if I have my window open. At first it didn't bother me that much until I stood in my window and watched as night after night, a diver ripped open countless bags and let paper and trash fly everywhere, without bothering to clean up afterwards. Boo Other than those few minor flaws, I really do enjoy living at Hillcrest Place and am pleased to call it home.
Great Place in Great Neighborhood |Recommended: YesThis location is smack dab in the middle of Hillcrest, one of San Diego's most vibrant and eclectic neighborhoods. Other than a couple lousy neighbors, who cannot seem to get their garbage in the dumpster or pick up theircigarette butts of the sidewalk in front of the door, this property is well maintained and peaceful.
My experience at the hillcrest place|Recommended: Yesits a safe place, very nice to live here the manager on site , Korina is very accesible and undrestanding, easy going and very professional.
Great location, great apartments, but the no doggie policy is a deal breaker|Recommended: YesI love the apartment, the neighbors and the location. Finding a place in such a central location with 2 parking spots was a big deal. Corina is wonderful as a property manager and we've never had a problem that wasn't taken care of imminently. My only complaint is the strict no dog policy, which is the reason we have to move. We wouldn't even consider leaving if small dogs were allowed. Hillcrest is such a colorful and friendly neighborhood, I'm surprised there is such a strict policy against a cute little furry friend... Please consider revising your policy!
Our new manager Corina is doing a great job. Its a ggod palce to live overall.|Recommended: Yesconvenient to everything, well kept, great manager, a lot of noise from the neighbors the last couple of months since some new tenants moved in. We would like to have the front intercom replaced. Overall a great place to live.
It's great so far. Close to everything.|Recommended: YesIt's like leaving in the in the middle of EVERYTHING.
